Background
Our Fulwell base opened in 1902 as a tram shed and, with 18 tracks, it was one of the largest in Greater London. Trams ran from the Fulwell site for more than 30 years, when they were replaced by trolley buses. In fact, our Fulwell location was the first in the London area to run trolley buses. During 2021, electric buses will be introduced for the first time at this hub.
Andy Evans is Head of Operations for our business unit London United West which includes our operations in Fulwell, Tolworth, Hounslow and Hounslow Heath. Andy continues to fulfil the role as General Manager for our Tolworth and Fulwell Garages as well. As a local man who grew up in the area, Andy was using our buses long before he worked in the industry so he can view things from the perspective of both a customer and a senior manager. “Fulwell garage is a great location with a committed team of drivers who really understand what our customers want out of their bus service. At the heart of this is teamwork and everybody at Fulwell knows what it means to work together.”
